GB: [00:00:00] someday Ray play. Uh, back for another week of daily talk show highlights, and we've got Mason, grace and Jess. Um,
[00:00:29] Mr. 97: [00:00:29] I made no, no one can see, but we are, we've just found out that zoom can actually
[00:00:35] GB: [00:00:35] hang on. What's he done?
[00:00:36] Mr. 97: [00:00:36] Sorry. I accidentally turned my camera off. As I know my mouse here, zoom has got these virtual filters that you can put on.
[00:00:45] And so there's a little Mo that we've added to all our faces.
[00:00:48] Grace Peris: [00:00:48] Yeah. Brows
[00:00:49] Mr. 97: [00:00:49] and eyebrows.
[00:00:49] GB: [00:00:49] Yeah. And eyebrows. And I've got it. I've got Jesse, you look great.
[00:00:55] Jess Lucas: [00:00:55] Thank you
[00:00:56] GB: [00:00:56] guys. So everyone's got their Mo's, everyone's got their eyebrows. I've got a little bow, like a head headband type thing, just because, you know, Just want to stand out.
[00:01:06] Um, yeah. And everyone, everyone said let's put on Moe's to be more like George and then classic power move. I put on an even secret one. So I still got it
[00:01:16] Mr. 97: [00:01:16] to be honest, mine actually, mine looks thicker than yours. GB. It's quite thick.
[00:01:20] Jess Lucas: [00:01:20] Wait, do you have the bottom bit mace?
[00:01:23] Mr. 97: [00:01:23] Not no, that's actual that's my actual,
[00:01:27] GB: [00:01:27] Oh, I thought that was
[00:01:28] Mr. 97: [00:01:28] no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
[00:01:31] I've, I've got a tiny bit. It's probably like. That's two weeks growth.
[00:01:35] GB: [00:01:35] Um,
[00:01:36] Grace Peris: [00:01:36] real itchy though.
[00:01:38] Mr. 97: [00:01:38] There you go. Fast.
[00:01:40] Jess Lucas: [00:01:40] You can get it thick. Like if you grow it what's. Nah, nah,
[00:01:46] Mr. 97: [00:01:46] nah, because it gets to the point. I mean, there was that period where there was the whole beard guy thing. Um, but now it just gets annoying.
[00:01:54] Like it gets to any level of thickness, but it's a little bit patchy, so yeah.
[00:01:59] Jess Lucas: [00:01:59] Yeah.
[00:02:00] GB: [00:02:00] Yeah. Well, I mean, that's enough visual, visual jokes for now. You can just trust us that we will look hilarious. Um, we look, it's just us today and the reason it's just us is because Jess has been on, you know, every, every episode pretty much, but we thought why not just.
[00:02:19] Flip it a little bit and Cole, Jess out guest.
[00:02:22] Jess Lucas: [00:02:22] So God, you
[00:02:25] Mr. 97: [00:02:25] just had no idea about this.
[00:02:28] Jess Lucas: [00:02:28] How would it stop my bloody makeup if I had of no, it's about me.
[00:02:31] Mr. 97: [00:02:31] Well, you got your browse in your modus
[00:02:34] Jess Lucas: [00:02:34] freshly shaven. Yeah.
[00:02:37] GB: [00:02:37] So anyway, we thought we just have a bit of fun and celebrate Jess because you've had just a great year at BMC and being absolutely killing it with the podcast that you do.
[00:02:47] And we're very grateful. So
[00:02:49] Grace Peris: [00:02:49] thank
[00:02:49] Jess Lucas: [00:02:49] you guys. My God. I've got instant nerves.
[00:02:56] GB: [00:02:56] Um, so to give a bit of context is a little few highlights from. From the year from all the shows that you've been on. So we've got
[00:03:04] Mr. 97: [00:03:04] Jess producer, Jess in the building
[00:03:07] GB: [00:03:07] who has organized
[00:03:09] Mr. 97: [00:03:09] these Epic, Epic faced for us,
[00:03:12] Josh Janssen: [00:03:12] just in say these words, but it sounds like she's going to be able to get a PS4 for me.
[00:03:18] Jess Lucas: [00:03:18] My
[00:03:18] Mr. 97: [00:03:18] first
[00:03:18] Jess Lucas: [00:03:18] time on the podcast,
[00:03:20] Josh Janssen: [00:03:20] microphone technique is horrendous. Come a
[00:03:22] Mr. 97: [00:03:22] little bit closer,
[00:03:25] Josh Janssen: [00:03:25] just at six 30. She was six minutes late.
[00:03:28] Jess Lucas: [00:03:28] Traffic. As soon as you guys can come out to Bendigo, I'm taking you out. We're going to do a trend too. Are we going to go to clogs and we're going to have the best pizza of our life?
[00:03:37] GB: [00:03:37] Yeah. I told Kelly that Jeff, like
[00:03:40] Jess Lucas: [00:03:40] friend,
[00:03:41] Josh Janssen: [00:03:41] a pretty guy with
[00:03:42] Jess Lucas: [00:03:42] tattoos have to have a beard. Jess Lucas
[00:03:46] GB: [00:03:46] is one of those people that. Superstar. She's great. Sometimes outrageous,
[00:03:53] Jess Lucas: [00:03:53] right? She's had one drink guys and she's throwing shock
[00:03:56] Grace Peris: [00:03:56] is
[00:03:57] Jess Lucas: [00:03:57] what I love about her. It makes out, I just cry as her red.
[00:04:00] GB: [00:04:00] It's that fine line of working out.
[00:04:02] Do I go that far
[00:04:04] Mr. 97: [00:04:04] on a podcast that goes
[00:04:05] GB: [00:04:05] out to the public?
[00:04:07] Mr. 97: [00:04:07] In my opinion, one of her best appearances yet on any podcast,
[00:04:10] Jess Lucas: [00:04:10] get the room, dark shit straight out of black South America. Recently we needed, we didn't need nickname for Jessie. If it's
[00:04:16] GB: [00:04:16] wild, wild, Jess, she's going all
[00:04:19] Josh Janssen: [00:04:19] lit. Like, it seems like she's going all in which I appreciate.
[00:04:22] Mr. 97: [00:04:22] She's.
[00:04:30] GB: [00:04:30] How do you, how do you feel Jess?
[00:04:33] Jess Lucas: [00:04:33] I'm literally in shock at the moment and I've said some pretty fucked up shit. Haven't I, in terms of like the drug stuff, the dark, dark shit from South America,
[00:04:44] GB: [00:04:44] sort of out of context. I mean, we're talking about what we do if we had one 60 million. Yeah, that's right.
[00:04:51] Jess Lucas: [00:04:51] I mean in
[00:04:55] Oh yeah. Christ. I feel like you're the only one here that doesn't know this yet, but drew has followed me. On Instagram.
[00:05:04] Mr. 97: [00:05:04] Mason told me that I was about to say, you're not only fired up because of that. Um, the highlights reel Georgia put together. It's also drew Sydney,
[00:05:13] Grace Peris: [00:05:13] Jess, about that. Oh,
[00:05:16] Jess Lucas: [00:05:16] I am through the tele barrier and I'm, I'm going to, yeah,
[00:05:21] GB: [00:05:21] there is a tele, but I don't reckon there is Arcon.
[00:05:23] You're in.
[00:05:23] Jess Lucas: [00:05:23] Not, we need to tell Josh and told me to write it that I need annual leave in April next year for our wedding. And then they also need to write a Matt Lee policy because this time next year, Oh,
[00:05:34] GB: [00:05:34] here we go. Why April for the wedding?
[00:05:39] Jess Lucas: [00:05:39] Sooner, rather than later, you know, got him down. Yeah. Looking down on these things.
[00:05:44] Mr. 97: [00:05:44] What's the vibe for the wedding? What are you thinking?
[00:05:47] Jess Lucas: [00:05:47] Um, I mean, I was all about the eloping and then having a massive party, but then I also kind of want to do the white dressing and walked out. So it'll always be outdoors in the sun and it'll be fairly casual affair. Yeah, clogs cater. Oh my God. I would love clothes stop.
[00:06:07] Yes. Okay. Here we go. Here we go. We're going to have it. We're going to have really nice canopies at the start. I don't think I like the vibe of sit down because that's when people get real lit. Um, but I thought we can do that with canopies, like delicious, like proper food, like mini burgers, cheese platters, that kind of thing.
[00:06:25] And then later on when we're all a little bit tipsy is when cogs comes in with the goods.
[00:06:32] Mr. 97: [00:06:32] Like
[00:06:33] Grace Peris: [00:06:33] having something to like, keep you going when you get a bit hungry at
[00:06:36] Jess Lucas: [00:06:36] like 10 o'clock at night. Yeah.
[00:06:38] GB: [00:06:38] Yeah. It is such a good feeling. When someone brings pizzas into a park,
[00:06:40] Grace Peris: [00:06:40] you just thought,
[00:06:41] Jess Lucas: [00:06:41] Oh, here we go, boys.
[00:06:43] GB: [00:06:43] Yeah. So what was it like when you saw it come up on the phone?
[00:06:49] Jess Lucas: [00:06:49] Yeah, it did. I was like, Oh, take a bloody fork in me. Like I'm done for today. Um, yeah, I mean, he hasn't liked any of my videos yet or not videos, photos yet, but things will happen. I'm going to have to start this trapping in with some new content though.
[00:07:06] So any suggestions are welcome.
[00:07:08] Mr. 97: [00:07:08] I was going to say what what's, what's the plan on what you're going to put out next.
[00:07:13] Jess Lucas: [00:07:13] What'd you think out of the
[00:07:14] Mr. 97: [00:07:14] video body? Is it jerking Christmas party,
[00:07:17] Jess Lucas: [00:07:17] Christmas products,
[00:07:18] Grace Peris: [00:07:18] time
[00:07:18] Jess Lucas: [00:07:18] wait though. You haven't
[00:07:19] Grace Peris: [00:07:19] seen before and then Christmas parties.
[00:07:23] Mr. 97: [00:07:23] Yeah. Two posts. Cause you do two posts in
[00:07:24] Jess Lucas: [00:07:24] between now.
[00:07:26] Mr. 97: [00:07:26] mean one posts now, and then the Christmas party, I feel like that's a good time for a post.
[00:07:30] GB: [00:07:30] Maybe you need to get your stories happening. Yes. Like tagging him up. Getting mind looking at yesterday
[00:07:38] Grace Peris: [00:07:38] or you reckon,
[00:07:39] GB: [00:07:39] well, what if he just doesn't say them? What if you're like way down the end of his
[00:07:42] Jess Lucas: [00:07:42] list?
[00:07:43] Mr. 97: [00:07:43] No, I've been a recent follow I'm.
[00:07:45] Sure. Instagram would push you up if you're a recent,
[00:07:47] Jess Lucas: [00:07:47] okay. I need to get some thirst trap content happening. I've got my sister's birthday this weekend. So they'll probably be content it'll come out of that. But then, I mean, he already knows I'm Cain because Tommy made a hole. Video about me being thirsty, so he knows he's hurt.
[00:08:04] GB: [00:08:04] And he was also in the room when
[00:08:08] Mr. 97: [00:08:08] that's exciting.
[00:08:11] GB: [00:08:11] What else has been happening with too much? Telly? It's just. Scott. I was listening to the Amie Chatfield episode. That was great.
[00:08:17] Jess Lucas: [00:08:17] Yeah. They didn't really get a word in there. Did I
[00:08:20] GB: [00:08:20] know you did it?
[00:08:22] Mr. 97: [00:08:22] I was the best I was running it through the transcription and it just came up with Tali and Abby.
[00:08:28] Jess Lucas: [00:08:28] Yeah, they literally couldn't say anything. They didn't take a breath the entire hour and 20 minutes or whatever it was. I know, but good on them. They were, they were funny. They're both big personalities.
[00:08:40] GB: [00:08:40] The, the editing stuff was interesting. Hey, like, I mean, grace, you watched the show, the, um,
[00:08:47] Mr. 97: [00:08:47] the bachelor.
[00:08:49] GB: [00:08:49] No, the one, the radar
[00:08:51] Grace Peris: [00:08:51] reputation
[00:08:51] GB: [00:08:51] rehab. I
[00:08:53] Grace Peris: [00:08:53] watched it because I saw Abby posted on her Instagram and was like, Oh, this would be interesting. Yeah. Cause I know like, or like I've seen what she's gotten since the bachelor and then I wanted to see how they did it in their show. It was really a really good show.
[00:09:09] Um, and yeah, it. Um, it made her seem like she was the one in control and it was like, Oh, like it's just all to do with music and editing. And I was like, Oh my God,
[00:09:20] GB: [00:09:20] it's crazy. Yeah. The editing. I have no doubt that I could like, make anyone look like easily. I could, maybe I should do like a daily talk show highlights, but make them look like absolutely assholes.
[00:09:36] Grace Peris: [00:09:36] Who's the villain.
[00:09:37] GB: [00:09:37] Yeah. That's a good point. Maybe to do one of them is the villain one is the hero.
[00:09:43] Jess Lucas: [00:09:43] Right. Um,
[00:09:47] GB: [00:09:47] but yeah, no, that was, yeah. Really good. So. What else have you learned from doing all these
[00:09:52] Jess Lucas: [00:09:52] podcasts talk? Basically. I think that's the main thing. I wasn't very, I don't, I always thought that I wasn't a very good communicator.
[00:10:00] So I think now just having the confidence to just say what you thinking, I think you're like
[00:10:05] GB: [00:10:05] killing it, like the, your grind, you know, great on it. Like you. When I was watching you guys record the drip episode, it was so funny,
[00:10:14] Jess Lucas: [00:10:14] but I feel like if that was the one of the first episodes, it wouldn't have been as good.
[00:10:18] I do feel like I've grown a lot in that area. Um, and I also think I gained my confidence. I'm kind of glad that, uh, locked down. And this is a silver lining, I guess I suppose of it in that it gave me the confidence to talk to tally and to be that producer role, play that producer. Now I'm buddy. I know I can't talk on camera because I'm in my own environment and I felt a lot better about the situation and that kind of thing.
[00:10:45] And had the run sheet in front of me. I had 20 or 19 episodes kind of behind me before we went back into the studio and I felt, Hmm. All the skills that I've learned just from that. Um, I could apply it to a real life situation and I didn't need to rely on the run sheet because I kind of had it in my mind and I knew how to carry on a conversation without it.
[00:11:05] Um, so yeah, I feel like that's the biggest thing that I've learnt. Isn't
[00:11:09] GB: [00:11:09] it crazy? Like it's only been what since may, I think may and may figured out that the first episode was 743, which was the Betty's burgers episode.
[00:11:21] Jess Lucas: [00:11:21] Was that my first episode.
[00:11:23] Mr. 97: [00:11:23] That was your first episode. Yeah.
[00:11:24] GB: [00:11:24] The one where Josh was giving you shit about your Mike technique.
[00:11:28] Jess Lucas: [00:11:28] Okay. So that episode I was so embarrassed slash nervous because I didn't want to eat that whole spit thing or eating on camera. Oh
[00:11:38] Mr. 97: [00:11:38] shit. Gets real.
[00:11:40] Jess Lucas: [00:11:40] Yeah,
[00:11:41] GB: [00:11:41] absolutely. Yeah. I don't think I spoke for like 20 minutes. I reckon if you looked at just my screen, I was just like such a mess when I was eating that book.
[00:11:54] Oh, we didn't get any Tommy buddy.
[00:11:57] Mr. 97: [00:11:57] Oh,
[00:11:58] Jess Lucas: [00:11:58] Oh yeah. That's right.
[00:11:59] GB: [00:11:59] Yeah. It's bloody
[00:12:02] Jess Lucas: [00:12:02] delicious. And I remember I wore a beanie. I probably wasn't great for the, ah, the headphone sit.
[00:12:10] GB: [00:12:10] Yeah. Yeah. What about like, going back? Do you, do you ever listen back to. Any early apps
[00:12:17] Mr. 97: [00:12:17] to listen to any episodes?
[00:12:19] Jess Lucas: [00:12:19] Yeah. Yeah. I've been listening every day.
[00:12:22] I didn't listen to the weekend banter one
[00:12:25] Mr. 97: [00:12:25] when you're on. Do you listen back to them? No.
[00:12:28] Jess Lucas: [00:12:28] Okay. I don't want to hear my voice.
[00:12:30] Mr. 97: [00:12:30] Me too. I never like anything that, I mean, I never listened back to it unless it's just an editing.
[00:12:35] Jess Lucas: [00:12:35] Yeah. I listened to the too much telly one because I have to, but it's at the 1.8 spade or something, so I can smash through it and get the same selections.
[00:12:43] Yeah. I hate it, mom. Okay. Ma I was in Bendigo and mom on the weekend and was just walking around with their phone on loudspeaker with the too much tele drew episode. And I was like, can you not? I don't, I actually hate the sound of my own voice. And then I was thinking about all the cringe things that I said.
[00:13:00] And I was like, I was just thinking about mom being in the same room as me listening to it. And then me talking about drew sea foam. And it was just so funny.
[00:13:07] GB: [00:13:07] It's
[00:13:07] Mr. 97: [00:13:07] not ideal is it?
[00:13:10] Jess Lucas: [00:13:10] He loves that shit. Like she's we have that kind of open conversation. Like she's a dirty little fuck, to be honest.
[00:13:18] Mr. 97: [00:13:18] Yeah.
[00:13:19] GB: [00:13:19] Um, so what we want to do Jess is because you don't, because you haven't listened to like any earlier episodes of the daily talk show or many, we thought we'd like pick a few themes from this week, but then cut in some, some old stuff.
[00:13:34] Cause it's fun to like look back and, and hear some of the things that they were talking about in early days. So we were talking about like fashion and merge and that sort of thing. And you'll hear in this little package, That, uh, Josh and Tommy had been arguing about fashion since day dot.
[00:13:51] Josh Janssen: [00:13:51] Like I was thinking about our Europe trip.
[00:13:54] I don't think I'll wear a hat. You'll
[00:13:57] Mr. 97: [00:13:57] stick out like
[00:13:58] Josh Janssen: [00:13:58] dog's balls. Exactly. Simplifying my wardrobe, but going a bit more Euro it's just like pants,
[00:14:04] GB: [00:14:04] like loafers,
[00:14:06] Mr. 97: [00:14:06] loafers,
[00:14:07] Josh Janssen: [00:14:07] loafers. Cool.
[00:14:08] Mr. 97: [00:14:08] Life is a cool
[00:14:10] Josh Janssen: [00:14:10] boat shoes. Like you fucking kidding me. Boat shoes. Cool.
[00:14:15] Mr. 97: [00:14:15] Cool.
[00:14:16] Josh Janssen: [00:14:16] These Merino socks. These are Marino warm. I've been wearing them for five days.
[00:14:22] Mr. 97: [00:14:22] Have you washed them?
[00:14:23] Josh Janssen: [00:14:23] No.
[00:14:24] Mr. 97: [00:14:24] What are you talking about,
[00:14:25] Josh Janssen: [00:14:25] bro? You would look nice in shirts.
[00:14:28] Mr. 97: [00:14:28] I like shirts over. T-shirts.
[00:14:30] GB: [00:14:30] That's my thing,
[00:14:32] Josh Janssen: [00:14:32] shirts over t-shirts is very Nickelodeon.
[00:14:34] GB: [00:14:34] Do I bring back the hat? Definitely not a snapback. What did I look like before a child?
[00:14:40] Josh Janssen: [00:14:40] The daily talk show? I liked the idea of doing different eras.
[00:14:43] And so it's all nineties style books, like, imagine where
[00:14:46] GB: [00:14:46] this is, but it's
[00:14:48] Josh Janssen: [00:14:48] like, imagine it's not imagined like low to nineties. Fucking everything. The Michael Jordan doco, they all look really cool. So if you type in princess Diana fashion, she good colors like
[00:15:01] GB: [00:15:01] colors.
[00:15:01] Jess Lucas: [00:15:01] What
[00:15:01] Josh Janssen: [00:15:01] would
[00:15:02] Mr. 97: [00:15:02] happen if we sort of did the daily talk show
[00:15:04] Josh Janssen: [00:15:04] much to be light Yeezys,
[00:15:10] GB: [00:15:10] I'm actually surprised that Josh knew what years. These were good on him.
[00:15:18] Jess Lucas: [00:15:18] He's a Kent Kanye fan.
[00:15:20] GB: [00:15:20] Josh Tommy's
[00:15:21] Mr. 97: [00:15:21] Tommy's a big Kanye fan. I don't think Josh has a big Kanye fan.
[00:15:25] Grace Peris: [00:15:25] Maybe, maybe he's a fan of what? He's outrageous tweet
[00:15:28] Mr. 97: [00:15:28] Twitter.
[00:15:28] Grace Peris: [00:15:28] Yeah. Like the rampage as he goes on on Twitter. Maybe that he's a fan of him.
[00:15:32] Mr. 97: [00:15:32] Trump. Yeah.
[00:15:33] GB: [00:15:33] Yeah. Have you guys ever had Yeezys before?
[00:15:36] Jess Lucas: [00:15:36] No, no, no. I don't think that's supportive and kind of does
[00:15:39] Grace Peris: [00:15:39] a friend of mine.
[00:15:40] Her boyfriend got Yeezys and then got like a
[00:15:43] Jess Lucas: [00:15:43] special box
[00:15:46] Mr. 97: [00:15:46] special box
[00:15:47] Grace Peris: [00:15:47] for like. I like locked, like lock them away so that he could like a safe kind of vibe because then he was so precious about them.
[00:15:53] Mr. 97: [00:15:53] Are they a couple grand? Is that what the, um, the vibe is? Uh,
[00:15:59] Jess Lucas: [00:15:59] like,
[00:16:01] Mr. 97: [00:16:01] yeah, I'm sure because you've got the whole like, um, who's that DJ dude collects a lot of shoes.
[00:16:09] What's his name?
[00:16:13] Yes. That one. Yeah, yeah,
[00:16:14] Jess Lucas: [00:16:14] yeah,
[00:16:17] Mr. 97: [00:16:17] yeah, yeah. That one. Yeah. Yeah, no, he's got a lot of shoes and he's like sell some and stuff.
[00:16:21] Jess Lucas: [00:16:21] What
[00:16:21] GB: [00:16:21] did you say?
[00:16:23] Mr. 97: [00:16:23] Oh, this
[00:16:26] GB: [00:16:26] guy sells shoes. That's cool. Kanye shoes,
[00:16:32] Mr. 97: [00:16:32] another one,
[00:16:34] GB: [00:16:34] the crop looking things. Have you seen those? Yeah. Ridiculous. Yeah, they're Yeezys, but they look like
[00:16:42] Grace Peris: [00:16:42] Crocs
[00:16:44] Jess Lucas: [00:16:44] and
[00:16:44] GB: [00:16:44] they're like,
[00:16:45] Grace Peris: [00:16:45] it's like the M one fashion, like, trend that I can't get behind or don't understand is like the high-heeled thongs seem to be coming back.
[00:16:54] And I think because like Kim Kardashian wears them and I'm like, I just don't
[00:16:57] Jess Lucas: [00:16:57] get it. Yeah.
[00:16:59] Mr. 97: [00:16:59] That is weird. What's your,
[00:17:01] GB: [00:17:01] what's your favorite decade of fashion? Grace?
[00:17:06] Jess Lucas: [00:17:06] I'd
[00:17:06] Grace Peris: [00:17:06] probably say the nineties I could. They're so cool, but I don't think I'm, I don't think I'm cool enough to wear nineties fashion.
[00:17:13] GB: [00:17:13] I love the nineties.
[00:17:14] I never actually thought that nineties fashion would come back. It just seemed like, I dunno, like flares and stuff and like crop tops and stuff. Now that's just everywhere. Matching sets are big at the moment. Yeah.
[00:17:29] Jess Lucas: [00:17:29] So trackies and stuff.
[00:17:30] GB: [00:17:30] Trackies. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:17:33] Grace Peris: [00:17:33] As well.
[00:17:35] Jess Lucas: [00:17:35] Yeah.
[00:17:36] GB: [00:17:36] So what, what are you wearing Jesse?
[00:17:37] You've got some sort of Merck on you.
[00:17:43] Jess Lucas: [00:17:43] Speaking of, uh, this is, uh, my dad's businesses, merchants called you've got BHC, but the back is where it's at. Do you want to see it to include a
[00:17:52] Mr. 97: [00:17:52] photo?
[00:17:53] Jess Lucas: [00:17:53] I'm going to go this way.
[00:17:57] GB: [00:17:57] Oh, that's it's a big Hill. Wow. It looks like a buys editor kind of design. Is that a,
[00:18:07] Mr. 97: [00:18:07] is that what it is?
[00:18:08] Jess Lucas: [00:18:08] My dad's business is a crane business.
[00:18:12] GB: [00:18:12] by the way, how good is that? Most? Hang on.
[00:18:14] Mr. 97: [00:18:14] Well done.
[00:18:17] Jess Lucas: [00:18:17] Lift and shift is my favorite part of that
[00:18:21] GB: [00:18:21] shift.
[00:18:21] Jess Lucas: [00:18:21] Like how funny? It's very cool. Yeah. Um, I mean, I got the daggy yellow one. They had a really nice, um, like a nice. Brownie kind of color. So it was like neutral. Um,
[00:18:33] Mr. 97: [00:18:33] yeah,
[00:18:34] Jess Lucas: [00:18:34] but
[00:18:34] GB: [00:18:34] that's what we're going to get through. It's
[00:18:35] Jess Lucas: [00:18:35] comfy. It's got a nice fluff on the inside.
[00:18:38] You know how it's like, you know how sometimes it's just that it's just real nice and fluffy. That's really good. Would be good for winter. Yeah.
[00:18:45] Mr. 97: [00:18:45] Well I'm, I mean, just, just on that snippet, the boat shoes.
[00:18:50] GB: [00:18:50] Oh, yeah. W
[00:18:50] Mr. 97: [00:18:50] what do we think? Are they
[00:18:51] Jess Lucas: [00:18:51] fashionable? Yes, they used to be, I haven't,
[00:18:58] GB: [00:18:58] I'm not a huge fan.
[00:19:00] Mr. 97: [00:19:00] Gross. What do you, what, what, what do you see? People wear them with bots,
[00:19:03] Grace Peris: [00:19:03] chinos,
[00:19:05] Jess Lucas: [00:19:05] real
[00:19:06] GB: [00:19:06] Hampton day.
[00:19:10] Jess Lucas: [00:19:10] Pretty.
[00:19:11] GB: [00:19:11] Pretty, um, pretty boys from Hampton
[00:19:16] Jess Lucas: [00:19:16] Hampton. I'd only been out there the other week. I accidentally drove out.
[00:19:20] GB: [00:19:20] What am I thinking? I'm thinking of America. I'm thinking of like the,
[00:19:23] Grace Peris: [00:19:23] um, the like long Island
[00:19:27] GB: [00:19:27] what's Hampton
[00:19:31] Mr. 97: [00:19:31] near, um, what's it called? Brighton? Yeah.
[00:19:35] Jess Lucas: [00:19:35] And there was like five st. Kilda, Elwood, Brighton out Hampton.
[00:19:39] GB: [00:19:39] So what's nice about it.
[00:19:41] Jess Lucas: [00:19:41] It's just have you guys been out there? Yeah.
[00:19:44] Mr. 97: [00:19:44] It's new Sandringham. Isn't it?
[00:19:47] Jess Lucas: [00:19:47] I don't know her, but Holy shit. It's nice. I want to go out there and explore, like the beaches are so much nicer.
[00:19:53] That's down there. Primo as.
[00:19:55] GB: [00:19:55] Yeah, right. I remember when I was a kid, my dad really wanted to get me RM Williams for my birthday. Oh yeah. And it was like, I was like, I don't want boots. Like, you know, no one was wearing boots. I didn't think they were cool. And so I went on the RM site and I found like boat shoe looking things is blue boat shoes.
[00:20:16] And I was like, I'll get them. Instead. And he was very hesitant, but ended up getting for me that $300
[00:20:23] Grace Peris: [00:20:23] expensive
[00:20:24] Jess Lucas: [00:20:24] down real RN Williams boots and got boat shoes from there.
[00:20:27] GB: [00:20:27] I know. Well, that's pre, uh, that was probably like 10 years ago, I reckon. But now I've got some arms. Oh,
[00:20:34] Mr. 97: [00:20:34] really? You love them.
[00:20:36] GB: [00:20:36] I mean, I haven't worn them for a while, but.
[00:20:38] Jess Lucas: [00:20:38] I really want to get up here.
[00:20:40] Mr. 97: [00:20:40] Well, they would have been swayed cause you to walk into the office the other day and dry your shoes. Cause they'll puddles it. If you had RM Williams, that wouldn't be a problem.
[00:20:48] GB: [00:20:48] Yeah. Yeah. Just out the front of the office, it just gets flooded. And I had no way of getting in there in the office.
[00:20:54] In fact, just like soaking my shoe.
[00:20:56] Mr. 97: [00:20:56] Oh, you shouldn't, you know what? I should have done it bit grotty. You should have taken them off and then walked into the office with them off.
[00:21:01] GB: [00:21:01] Oh yeah. Go and barefoot
[00:21:02] Mr. 97: [00:21:02] could have done that.
[00:21:03] GB: [00:21:03] Could've done that
[00:21:04] Mr. 97: [00:21:04] anyway.
[00:21:05] GB: [00:21:05] What are we thinking for. 2021 fashion tips. Um, are you going to, what are you what's what's on the cards?
[00:21:18] Jess Lucas: [00:21:18] No,
[00:21:18] Mr. 97: [00:21:18] you go Jess.
[00:21:19] Jess Lucas: [00:21:19] Um, maybe it goes back to tracking. It goes to the knots, the
[00:21:25] Mr. 97: [00:21:25] noughties. Well,
[00:21:27] Jess Lucas: [00:21:27] what are we going to show in sequential? Well, Greg, you thought were in my nineties.
[00:21:33] Grace Peris: [00:21:33] I think that you can see it's coming back though in that vibe.
[00:21:38] Mr. 97: [00:21:38] So say 2050 comes around. What is 20, 20 year of fashion?
[00:21:43] GB: [00:21:43] Yeah, there's only like four styles.
[00:21:45] Isn't it? Yeah.
[00:21:48] Mr. 97: [00:21:48] Plain tee shirts. Hmm. It
[00:21:50] Jess Lucas: [00:21:50] would be good if we, as a society, a global society could get together and actually work it out so that it's easier to know like what to purchase for your wardrobe. Like if it was like 1920s was like the roaring twenties, it's like, well now we're in 2020. So late spring that the swing is dresses and pies and nice little champagne glasses and that'd be good.
[00:22:13] And also Leonardo DiCaprio is exactly. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:22:20] GB: [00:22:20] Yeah. Are you still wearing a suit to the Christmas party
[00:22:23] Jess Lucas: [00:22:23] wise? Oh
[00:22:25] Mr. 97: [00:22:25] yeah, we try it. So the vomit stained suit, which we went and got dry cleaned, which is now clean. Doesn't fit me anymore. Oh, no. Sorry. I shouldn't have just dry cleaned it. Anyhow,
[00:22:38] GB: [00:22:38] not fit you didn't you wear it like in June.
[00:22:41] Mr. 97: [00:22:41] Yeah, but it's tight.
[00:22:43] Jess Lucas: [00:22:43] He was like, I can't
[00:22:46] Grace Peris: [00:22:46] shake anyone's
[00:22:46] Mr. 97: [00:22:46] hand. Yeah. You gotta rotate. Yeah. Whole body to it. Wasn't it? Yeah. It's not the short, the shorts. The pants are. Okay. It's just this, the suit jackets a little bit. Yeah.
[00:22:57] Grace Peris: [00:22:57] But we're going on the weekend to get a new suit. So maybe he could wear it to the
[00:23:01] Jess Lucas: [00:23:01] black Friday sales.
[00:23:03] Mr. 97: [00:23:03] Oh, really? That's a great idea. Yeah. I mean the brand that I, the suit brand that I was looking at was politics there. Okay.
[00:23:13] GB: [00:23:13] Sounds very like you attend formal that brand for some reason,
[00:23:16] Mr. 97: [00:23:16] but that's exactly George,
[00:23:19] Jess Lucas: [00:23:19] would you get a custom suit?
[00:23:21] Mr. 97: [00:23:21] Oh my God. Well, that's like. That's like 1500 bucks.
[00:23:24] Jess Lucas: [00:23:24] I don't know.
[00:23:25] I'll send you some details over a guy that I know who does it after this, and we'll see what we can do. I mean, I don't know him. I mean, I do know him personally, but I mean, I don't think I've got to get you any sweet deals. If I feel like you want to go through him for a really nice customer,
[00:23:42] GB: [00:23:42] she got tired of the pants.
[00:23:43] Are they like. Bursting.
[00:23:46] Jess Lucas: [00:23:46] I said, I was
[00:23:46] Grace Peris: [00:23:46] like squatting
[00:23:47] Jess Lucas: [00:23:47] them.
[00:23:48] Mr. 97: [00:23:48] I can't squat. I
[00:23:50] GB: [00:23:50] can't sit down in my suit.
[00:23:51] Jess Lucas: [00:23:51] You need to be at a dance Mason. Yeah, knock
[00:23:54] Mr. 97: [00:23:54] definitely CA I CA I can't see you. I can't cross my arms and my suit. Oh, yeah.
[00:23:59] Grace Peris: [00:23:59] Cut shapes on the dance floor.
[00:24:02] GB: [00:24:02] I was in a weird, I was at a wedding a couple of years ago and I like sat down and just the button just went,
[00:24:07] Mr. 97: [00:24:07] Oh no, that's gonna be good.
[00:24:14] GB: [00:24:14] Um, another thing that happened this week is, uh, Josh got to live his dream of hosting some guests at his house and showing them around his beautiful library. And this all started. Uh, earlier in the year, uh, on episode 585, and he got to fulfill it this weekend with grace and Mason,
[00:24:35] Josh Janssen: [00:24:35] I'm building the library.
[00:24:37] And so if 97 ever stays, it will basically arrive in. There'll be a little, a minibar of, Hey tiger chocolate, which we've paid for
[00:24:45] Mr. 97: [00:24:45] at a store
[00:24:48] Josh Janssen: [00:24:48] and a soap. And then the iPad on the iPad. There'll be a little note. And it'll say, Hey serves, thanks for staying where a book house. And we like reading books. We don't watch that much TV, but I want to.
[00:25:05] Select books sounds like Josh has pick of the week. This is what I think you would like and sorry,
[00:25:12] GB: [00:25:12] iPad.
[00:25:13] Mr. 97: [00:25:13] Yeah. Sorry. I didn't even touch the book yet. Now, if there's someone you want looking after your house,
[00:25:17] GB: [00:25:17] it's actually that kid.
[00:25:18] Josh Janssen: [00:25:18] Yeah. You can say my library behind me. I was like, Oh, you know what? I'm going to pick two books each for them.
[00:25:24] That I think that they would like to read during their stay. I got my index cards and I wrote a note and said, okay, here's a book. This is what it's called. This is why I think you'll enjoy it for both of them. But then the kicker was, we got to Jalong. Embry said, Oh, we can just relax in the room and raid.
[00:25:42] And I said, I forgot to bring up.
[00:25:47] GB: [00:25:47] Yeah. Oh, very good. So did which books did he recommend for you
[00:25:50] Grace Peris: [00:25:50] guys? Um, so I was just looking at the photos now cause we took a photo of it. Yeah. You guys
[00:25:56] GB: [00:25:56] can see that. Oh my God.
[00:25:58] Jess Lucas: [00:25:58] So cute. It
[00:25:59] Mr. 97: [00:25:59] was very cute. No, no. Hey target chocolate. But they were to keep it clean up bliss balls. So George, you would have loved it.
[00:26:05] GB: [00:26:05] Great. Delicious.
[00:26:06] Jess Lucas: [00:26:06] What about soap? Tommy got fresh shoot last week.
[00:26:12] Mr. 97: [00:26:12] These are the different ones.
[00:26:13] Grace Peris: [00:26:13] Yeah. Wow. The Nutfield ones.
[00:26:15] GB: [00:26:15] That's lovely.
[00:26:16] Grace Peris: [00:26:16] Yeah, no soap.
[00:26:19] Mr. 97: [00:26:19] I'll
[00:26:19] Grace Peris: [00:26:19] be, there was so bad, the bathroom, just not on the, uh, in the bed. Um, so for me, Josh had, um, picked hatching Twitter. It's like the story behind Twitter and then the sacred struggles and tragic death of an all American teens.
[00:26:33] So what made Maddy run? Um, and then for mace, he had the war of art and then backpacking in apps and people.
[00:26:43] Mr. 97: [00:26:43] It was actually, it was, it was great though. So that backpacking one, I think it's a world of books purchase, but yeah, it it's, it's, it's coined the term backpacking before it was even in the dictionary.
[00:26:56] Jess Lucas: [00:26:56] Right.
[00:26:57] Mr. 97: [00:26:57] Yeah. So out of books
[00:26:58] GB: [00:26:58] purchase, what does that mean?
[00:27:00] Mr. 97: [00:27:00] Oh, it's a second hand book. Yeah, if you Google it. Yeah. It's a bookstore, but they're all secondhand books. And so when you open them, they like to smell and like Josh has bought books and they've got like letters in from previous people. Who've like saved notes and stuff.
[00:27:16] GB: [00:27:16] Oh, that's sick. Yeah. So did he say why you guys would like those books? Like what was his rationale?
[00:27:22] Grace Peris: [00:27:22] Um, yeah, he has. So again, here, the. Oh, hang on.
[00:27:32] Mr. 97: [00:27:32] um,
[00:27:33] Grace Peris: [00:27:33] it was actually the sweetest cause we saw the note when we walked in saying like old, welcome, like, this is how you lock the doors and this is the air cons and stuff. And then in the bedroom, having the books there for
[00:27:44] Jess Lucas: [00:27:44] the all,
[00:27:44] Grace Peris: [00:27:44] um, descriptions was so lovely. Um, I think so for the hatching Twitter it's cause I really want to get into Twitter.
[00:27:52] So just right. Like it's going to be my new thing in
[00:27:56] GB: [00:27:56] 2021. Oh geez. This is good news.
[00:28:00] Mr. 97: [00:28:00] We live crisis Twitter in the shot shot.
[00:28:04] Jess Lucas: [00:28:04] So we all need to get them as well. So you can communicate with people or
[00:28:07] Grace Peris: [00:28:07] no, I just do not feel like I'm going to be, you know, the person that, you know, people, there are people that like post really funny Twitters.
[00:28:13] Jess Lucas: [00:28:13] Yes.
[00:28:19] Mr. 97: [00:28:19] it feels like
[00:28:20] GB: [00:28:20] we're in 2013, this new thing.
[00:28:23] Grace Peris: [00:28:23] I'm sweet thought. I should know the backstory behind
[00:28:26] Jess Lucas: [00:28:26] Twitter.
[00:28:27] Grace Peris: [00:28:27] And then what? No, no.
[00:28:32] Mr. 97: [00:28:32] Well, just letting everybody, if I get back to you tonight, it's because I'm binge watching the crown Netflix.
[00:28:41] Jess Lucas: [00:28:41] Ah, that's great.
[00:28:43] Grace Peris: [00:28:43] Anyway, um,
[00:28:45] GB: [00:28:45] how many followers have you got?
[00:28:46] Grace Peris: [00:28:46] I like 15.
[00:28:49] GB: [00:28:49] Did anyone
[00:28:50] Mr. 97: [00:28:50] just reply to it? It's
[00:28:52] Grace Peris: [00:28:52] like great content.
[00:28:54] Mr. 97: [00:28:54] Um, and then
[00:28:55] Grace Peris: [00:28:55] I think, and then on the backpacking one, um, Josh actually said, give this book a smell it's from the seventies when it was written backpacking wasn't even in the Oxford dictionary, travel back in time with the backpack backpack, check underneath the book, pre protector fun patent data.
[00:29:14] Mr. 97: [00:29:14] Oh, I, I didn't even do that. Whoops. Yeah. The other, the other, the other books, the war of art, um, Seth Godin's book. The practice has a lot of ideas from this book. Um, I listened to it. I listened to the audio book last night, lots of gems and helped with my focus. So
[00:29:34] GB: [00:29:34] how long is the book?
[00:29:36] Mr. 97: [00:29:36] Oh, look it's I dunno.
[00:29:39] Like, uh,
[00:29:39] GB: [00:29:39] and he listened to the whole thing.
[00:29:41] Mr. 97: [00:29:41] He didn't know, he was quite
[00:29:43] Jess Lucas: [00:29:43] sure it was Blinkist.
[00:29:45] Grace Peris: [00:29:45] Some of the chapters,
[00:29:46] Jess Lucas: [00:29:46] Pedro.
[00:29:47] Mr. 97: [00:29:47] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Chapters like one page per chapter, sort of. Uh,
[00:29:51] Jess Lucas: [00:29:51] and so did you guys spend the weekend writing?
[00:29:54] Mr. 97: [00:29:54] Uh,
[00:29:55] Jess Lucas: [00:29:55] we,
[00:29:56] Grace Peris: [00:29:56] we spent a bit of it writing and then we binge-watched, uh, selling sunsets.
[00:30:01] We're a bit behind
[00:30:02] Mr. 97: [00:30:02] times and we don't watch TV
[00:30:05] GB: [00:30:05] book, house.
[00:30:07] Grace Peris: [00:30:07] Yeah. And then yeah, selling sunsets. That's what we watched.
[00:30:10] GB: [00:30:10] Yeah. Nice. So no iPad. It was index card. It was analog. Analog.
[00:30:14] Jess Lucas: [00:30:14] Yeah. As well. To write
[00:30:18] Grace Peris: [00:30:18] like the welcome note.
[00:30:19] GB: [00:30:19] Okay. Yep.
[00:30:20] Jess Lucas: [00:30:20] What was the welcome note?
[00:30:22] Grace Peris: [00:30:22] Um, it just said grace
[00:30:24] Mr. 97: [00:30:24] instructions on the house.
[00:30:25] Wasn't it just like how to open like the door, like the locks and all that sort of stuff.
[00:30:30] GB: [00:30:30] Any issues?
[00:30:34] Mr. 97: [00:30:34] No,
[00:30:35] Grace Peris: [00:30:35] nothing like that. Nice and sweet. Nice and easy.
[00:30:38] GB: [00:30:38] Easy.
[00:30:39] Grace Peris: [00:30:39] Yeah, it was great little staycation in Collingwood.
[00:30:43] Jess Lucas: [00:30:43] Did you get to explore that area? I suppose you've been over there a little bit now. Haven't you?
[00:30:47] Grace Peris: [00:30:47] Yeah, but we did though. Where do you get walked
[00:30:49] Jess Lucas: [00:30:49] out a little bit
[00:30:50] Grace Peris: [00:30:50] and like went to Napier quarter for a drink on Saturday and then, um, Yeah. I don't know, like on Sunday was quite rainy, so we didn't really go out
[00:31:01] Mr. 97: [00:31:01] seasons of selling sunsets.
[00:31:06] Jess Lucas: [00:31:06] I would have suggested the most delicious
[00:31:16] The best BLTs in the entire world are really just thinking about that. My mouth is salivating. So I've told Josh about this and he hasn't been there, my switch from his house and we're going, gonna do it one day. It's called men locale and it's literally across the road from Josh, but on the other side of that, Block.
[00:31:40] Okay. Entities it's small and cute. And the best BLTs and coffee in the entire world.
[00:31:47] Mr. 97: [00:31:47] Really? Oh yeah. Bricky role. Have you had the brickie role?
[00:31:51] Jess Lucas: [00:31:51] No, you conquer. Possibly I'll take. What I used to do is I actually used to work there as well. I'd go there early after boxing training and go and get the scrambled eggs on toast and ice coffee and start my work there and then go to the office after that.
[00:32:07] And it was the best thing ever.
[00:32:09] Grace Peris: [00:32:09] That's a nice little routine.
[00:32:11] Jess Lucas: [00:32:11] Not every day. Just
[00:32:13] Grace Peris: [00:32:13] pop the boxing steel.
[00:32:17] GB: [00:32:17] How do you go, Jess, Jess with, um, like hosting guests. Do you have people that will come and stay in your house? If you go away?
[00:32:24] Jess Lucas: [00:32:24] Um, I did one time when I went overseas, I, girlfriend of mine actually needed a place to stay.
[00:32:29] She was between houses. So she, her and her boyfriend moved in here. And I probably wasn't as thoughtful as that, but I left them. I left them chocolate and some wine. Hopefully they also left me wine. And like, I can't remember what else, something else. Um, but yeah. Um, yeah, try to think ahead. But. Sometimes I'm always in a rush to be honest face
[00:32:52] Mr. 97: [00:32:52] at the time.
[00:32:53] GB: [00:32:53] Have you ever had grace to have like someone stay and look after your pets?
[00:32:59] Grace Peris: [00:32:59] Uh, no. It's always been like my brother or my auntie or someone like that.
[00:33:03] GB: [00:33:03] Yeah.
[00:33:04] Grace Peris: [00:33:04] Someone who kind of knows as opposed to just like a random person. Um, yeah,
[00:33:09] Mr. 97: [00:33:09] we had one of our family friends to that.
[00:33:11] Grace Peris: [00:33:11] Yeah. Just like mum would trust like a random person hear after my cat.
[00:33:16] Yeah. She's too protective of him.
[00:33:19] GB: [00:33:19] Are you guys looking forward to getting out of here for
[00:33:22] Jess Lucas: [00:33:22] Christmas,
[00:33:24] Mr. 97: [00:33:24] right?
[00:33:26] Grace Peris: [00:33:26] Oh yeah. I gotcha. Packing.
[00:33:28] GB: [00:33:28] What's your packing technique for a holiday?
[00:33:31] Grace Peris: [00:33:31] Oh goodness. Mine's really bad. I always
[00:33:34] GB: [00:33:34] over, it's actually going to be interesting for you this time, because like, is most of your stuff in Victoria?
[00:33:40] Grace Peris: [00:33:40] of it is, but then I did leave stuff in Perth to they'll be like sent over so I can just bring that over. Yeah. Like even when we went to Josh and breeze, I packed way too much. I was like, I came back. I was like, I didn't wear like three leggings, like exercise likings and two t-shirts or something.
[00:33:56] GB: [00:33:56] Yeah.
[00:33:57] Grace Peris: [00:33:57] I was like, how long did I think I was going for,
[00:33:59] Mr. 97: [00:33:59] I know
[00:34:00] GB: [00:34:00] that's all these main ones that made me laugh and it was like, I need to pack. Eight pairs of undies for a four day holiday in case I piss my pants every day.
[00:34:11] Very true.
[00:34:12] Jess Lucas: [00:34:12] Do you know what I've realized? Sorry. So I went back to Bendigo last week and I have not, I have a suitcase, but I don't, and I have an overnight bag with the overnight bag is too small and I put all of my tech equipment in it. And so then I had to carry Woolworth bags. So I had about four Woolworths bags filled with that.
[00:34:28] One was like underwear. One was that t-shirts gym wear that kind of stuff. And then the other one was going out. And again, I've had too many colors for what I was going back full and yeah. So I needed a new bag.
[00:34:41] Mr. 97: [00:34:41] Or do you need a suitcase? Like a small carry on suitcase?
[00:34:44] Jess Lucas: [00:34:44] Well, no, that, well, that's what I have and I don't want to use a suitcase because it's just too much.
[00:34:48] I just want like a nice overnight bag. In fact, the one, the one that I do have, if it was just bigger, it'd be great. Cause it's pretty.
[00:34:56] GB: [00:34:56] What are you going to do? Mess with the, with the iMac in the end? Have you decided,
[00:35:02] Mr. 97: [00:35:02] look, I don't, I don't think the iMac is going to make it over to Perth though. Really?
[00:35:07] GB: [00:35:07] What about just. A box.
[00:35:10] Mr. 97: [00:35:10] So funny
[00:35:11] Jess Lucas: [00:35:11] the box,
[00:35:12] GB: [00:35:12] like what about if you I've actually got a box here that you could take if you needed it?
[00:35:17] Mr. 97: [00:35:17] No, well, this, but this is the thing. So, I mean,
[00:35:19] GB: [00:35:19] you don't pay for it. You don't have to pay for luggage.
[00:35:22] Mr. 97: [00:35:22] No, we've got one we've got on the couch. It's comes with like Virgin or whatever. But it's just like, I don't know if I trust them throwing computers and shit around, you know? Yeah.
[00:35:31] GB: [00:35:31] I've taken mine a few places. Really? Yeah. Well,
[00:35:35] Mr. 97: [00:35:35] I remember when you came into the, like, when you started coming into the office, you would check your iMac up, you get that in the box and you'd carry it into work, like on the tram.
[00:35:47] And you'd be like an Uber is when you go home,
[00:35:50] GB: [00:35:50] you just put it back. Back to festivals. It's been out, it's been back. It's been everywhere. It's solid based.
[00:35:57] Grace Peris: [00:35:57] Oh my
[00:35:58] GB: [00:35:58] goodness. They're in those, in those like styrofoam boxes, you find
[00:36:02] Grace Peris: [00:36:02] the plane base.
[00:36:03] Jess Lucas: [00:36:03] What's your plan?
[00:36:05] Mr. 97: [00:36:05] Well, I'll probably laptop probably. Probably.
[00:36:07] Yeah, probably. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah. We'll have to see how it goes. I don't know if it will be powerful enough, but you know, we'll
[00:36:15] Jess Lucas: [00:36:15] see. I've been asking
[00:36:17] Grace Peris: [00:36:17] him the same question, Jess, every weekend
[00:36:19] Jess Lucas: [00:36:19] you might get a good sale.
[00:36:21] Grace Peris: [00:36:21] What's going on? What's
[00:36:21] Mr. 97: [00:36:21] going on?
[00:36:24] GB: [00:36:24] Let me just. Josh is admin coach. Yes. How's that been going?
[00:36:29] Any, any learnings?
[00:36:32] Jess Lucas: [00:36:32] That's a Josh question. We haven't even had an admin catch up. I don't think he actually wants it. All
[00:36:39] GB: [00:36:39] right.
[00:36:40] Jess Lucas: [00:36:40] enough. I've noticed with these eight he's invites accepting them now, which is good. And he, I mean, I haven't sent him any emails to respond to, so. Yeah, I think he's, he's getting better.
[00:36:53] He's becoming a little bit more switched on with, um, I don't think he's gotten into a sauna yet, but he's definitely back on HubSpot as well. So yeah, baby steps, you know, I'm not all, you know, it's not all at once. You've got to take these little small changes and implement them into your daily life. And then we can grow that.
[00:37:11] GB: [00:37:11] Perfect. Yeah. I thought that they were calling you the whip because you'd like whip people into place.
[00:37:16] Jess Lucas: [00:37:16] Yeah. That's one of the meanings, but also I love whippets. Yeah. Um, Yeah. Progress.
[00:37:25] GB: [00:37:25] Yeah. Great. Well, Josh, uh, you know, while he's on his computer trying to do admin, one thing he's very good at is going down rabbit holes and, um, and this week he found some new information and he wanted to, uh, wanted to tell Tommy about it, what
[00:37:41] Josh Janssen: [00:37:41] to do.
[00:37:42] If there's an active shooter, you basically want to protect yourself from the bullets. You get a thick book. This is where it gets hard. You need tiles tiles, and you put the tiles in the book. So it's like, okay, I've got two, two tiles, put the tiles in between the book and then get another book and put towels in there.
[00:38:03] And then you get gaffer tape and you put it around it. And then you've got, basically, he said it won't. And go through all of the books. The other thing they did, which I think is a bit part of like, surely this isn't going to make a difference, like salt and pepper is like, it's going to stick in their eyes.
[00:38:18] Actually. Here is a good tip. How would you protect yourself from them? Not getting through the door?
[00:38:24] Mr. 97: [00:38:24] Classic chair.
[00:38:25] Josh Janssen: [00:38:25] What you should be doing is stacking the furniture. So what's from the door to the wall. That is .
[00:38:32] GB: [00:38:32] Yeah. Yeah. Can I get you to that point?
[00:38:34] Josh Janssen: [00:38:34] Like I'm quite high up. I think that I would actually do the whole sheet, the bedsheets thing.
[00:38:41] Do you think
[00:38:41] GB: [00:38:41] them to climb down? No, absolutely not. With your time.
[00:38:45] Josh Janssen: [00:38:45] He said, he said, if you, you can jump two floors and you'll be fine, you'll survive. You just have a bit of
[00:38:52] GB: [00:38:52] a broken life. Pretty sure that if somehow you ended up in
[00:38:57] Josh Janssen: [00:38:57] head first,
[00:39:00] GB: [00:39:00] Oh, sorry. That was fun. That's so funny. I love Tommy just being like, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah man.
[00:39:08] Mr. 97: [00:39:08] Yeah. The class is shit.
[00:39:13] GB: [00:39:13] Um, when you were doing your boxing, Jess, did you learn any self-defense techniques for the streets? I was actually looking at some on YouTube the other day. Yeah. How to defend yourself if you got attacked.
[00:39:24] Jess Lucas: [00:39:24] No, I didn't. But my sisters taught me a couple of things. If someone goes to choke you, you ask how to,
[00:39:31] GB: [00:39:31] yeah.
[00:39:32] Jess Lucas: [00:39:32] I mean, I can't really remember it. I feel like hopefully it had just come to me if I was ever in that situation. Yeah. And then there was another one, I think if it was, if it was a guy you like somehow like. In there in between their legs. Um, which I also can't remember. Sorry. No, I'm just going to have to do the left right?
[00:39:51] Good night. I think
[00:39:53] Grace Peris: [00:39:53] it's like in miss congeniality where she, her, um, her talent is like teaching people how to self defend and then so like, um, it's like you get them in like the nose and then the stomach and then the groin and then the tie. So that's, that's my time
[00:40:09] Jess Lucas: [00:40:09] dependent snap.
[00:40:11] Grace Peris: [00:40:11] No, it's kind of like your arm goes up into their face, they're coming from behind.
[00:40:15] And then it goes like down into their stomach and then into their crutch. And then like you stumped on their toe or something.
[00:40:22] Jess Lucas: [00:40:22] Great.
[00:40:23] GB: [00:40:23] Yeah. Good for athlete's foot.
[00:40:27] Jess Lucas: [00:40:27] Be like, if I was a tax, I'd just try and run. Yeah.
[00:40:31] Grace Peris: [00:40:31] I mean that's
[00:40:33] Jess Lucas: [00:40:33] yes. Yeah.
[00:40:34] GB: [00:40:34] Just, it's not worth when I was doing a kick workout the other day,
[00:40:41] Grace Peris: [00:40:41] how are you feeling George?
[00:40:44] GB: [00:40:44] It was a boxing one. And when you're watching boxing or you're watching like UFC or something, you're like, Oh yeah, like it doesn't look that
[00:40:50] Mr. 97: [00:40:50] hard, but
[00:40:52] GB: [00:40:52] my technique was shocking.
[00:40:54] Jess Lucas: [00:40:54] It's hard.
[00:40:55] GB: [00:40:55] It's like the coordination. Yeah. It's actually. Hey Todd. So
[00:41:01] Jess Lucas: [00:41:01] I started
[00:41:02] Grace Peris: [00:41:02] boxing the other day.
[00:41:03] Jess Lucas: [00:41:03] I really come to my boxing gym. I would
[00:41:07] Grace Peris: [00:41:07] go to a boxing gym
[00:41:08] Jess Lucas: [00:41:08] com
[00:41:10] Grace Peris: [00:41:10] I should find a gym.
[00:41:12] Jess Lucas: [00:41:12] Yeah. Alright. I will get you on a trial. Oh,
[00:41:15] Grace Peris: [00:41:15] awesome. Oh, right.
[00:41:17] Jess Lucas: [00:41:17] Yeah. Yeah. I'm back. I want you to say, I didn't go this morning, but I'm going tomorrow and Thursday. Cause you have to book in now it's a little bit annoying.
[00:41:26] Good to be back. Sorry, but I'm sorry.
[00:41:29] GB: [00:41:29] Really? What did they have you
[00:41:30] Jess Lucas: [00:41:30] doing? Well the first week, so I didn't go last week cause I was in Bendigo, but the week before I went and. Because you couldn't do pad work because of COVID, but now the restrictions have changed, so you can do it now. So it's basically back to normal, except that you have to clean your bags, which is kind of annoying.
[00:41:46] And yeah, so it's in, at the start, it's probably bag work to warm up and that kind of thing, you do rounds and in-between sit-ups and push-ups and burpees and that kind of thing. Um, and then you get into pad work and that's more like technique and actually like hitting it properly and that type of thing.
[00:42:05] GB: [00:42:05] Right.
[00:42:06] Jess Lucas: [00:42:06] Yeah. I mean, if you do a team one, it'd be great. That
[00:42:09] Grace Peris: [00:42:09] could have been the Christmas party, just out
[00:42:12] Jess Lucas: [00:42:12] of pain.
[00:42:14] Mr. 97: [00:42:14] Has anyone been in any emergency or dangerous situations? Um,
[00:42:21] GB: [00:42:21] no,
[00:42:22] Grace Peris: [00:42:22] I
[00:42:22] GB: [00:42:22] haven't really
[00:42:24] Mr. 97: [00:42:24] well. I mean, that's good because I've, I mean, I've put a list together of some scenarios. And I thought we could go around the room and see what you guys would do in each scenario.
[00:42:34] Okay. Okay. So the first one amazes sort of like love Bay girls, by the way. Um, so these are sort of baked, inspired. Okay.
[00:42:48] GB: [00:42:48] You have loved bear Grylls for years. Haven't you like one of your idols?
[00:42:52] Mr. 97: [00:42:52] Yes. Yeah, yeah, no. I love to bake girls. He came, he actually came to Melbourne. I think it was at the convention center.
[00:42:58] And, um, it was literally him just talking like it, just a chat with someone. And so mum got tickets. The whole family went. Um, really, I mean, he came down from the roof, so he was like, he came down like whatever, 25, 50 meters and just climb down 15 minutes, probably outrageous twenty-five meters. Um, and then he got onto stage and he just detached from his harness and started towards cause.
[00:43:23] Great. Yeah. I'd love to,
[00:43:24] GB: [00:43:24] and I've got laid any like weird bugs or anything?
[00:43:27] Mr. 97: [00:43:27] Not, nah, it was more just like a chat and then they had some like video to play on the background, but like I used to love watching man. Vs wild. Yeah. It was so big. It was so big. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, so the first one,
[00:43:40] GB: [00:43:40] right? So these are more like what?
[00:43:41] Getting out of situations.
[00:43:43] Mr. 97: [00:43:43] Yeah. Let's let's emergency level. Yeah. I thought it was too dark to go down the route of, you know, active shooters again.
[00:43:51] GB: [00:43:51] Yeah.
[00:43:51] Mr. 97: [00:43:51] Um, so the first one you're at sea. You've you've for example, fallen out of the boat.
[00:44:00] Jess Lucas: [00:44:00] Stop. This is already my worst nightmare. Oh, have you seen deep blue, whatever it's called the, uh, when they, the inhabitant Hamilton Island and they,
[00:44:11] GB: [00:44:11] uh, yeah.
[00:44:13] Mr. 97: [00:44:13] well, this is pretty much it. So people say here's this people know your last location, so they know where they dropped you off or where you fell off. You can save the land, but you've got no idea how far away it is. Are you going to wait four hours for them to come back to the spot where they, you fell off?
[00:44:33] Or are you going to try to swim to the shore?
[00:44:38] Josh Janssen: [00:44:38] Jeez.
[00:44:40] Mr. 97: [00:44:40] Oh,
[00:44:41] Jess Lucas: [00:44:41] how do you know, do you know it's going to be four hours?
[00:44:44] Grace Peris: [00:44:44] He said,
[00:44:46] Mr. 97: [00:44:46] yes. You can see land. You've got no idea how far away this is or what's in between,
[00:44:50] GB: [00:44:50] but do you know they're going to be back in four hours?
[00:44:53] Mr. 97: [00:44:53] Yes, yes. Four hours. Yep.
[00:44:55] GB: [00:44:55] Yeah, I'd wait it out. Okay,
[00:44:56] Jess Lucas: [00:44:56] then I'd probably wait.
[00:44:59] Mr. 97: [00:44:59] Okay, great. Well, that's the first one.
[00:45:05] No, I would wait. I mean, Yeah, probably white. I mean, for four hours of treading water, isn't fun
[00:45:12] Grace Peris: [00:45:12] on your back.
[00:45:13] Jess Lucas: [00:45:13] Well, can I tell you a story just quickly? A girl that I used to work with this actually happened to her. In port Phillip Bay and she's written a book. Um, you should, you should read it. Sorry.
[00:45:27] Interesting. But, um, the boat capsized, she was with her family. Uh, everyone passed away that she was with and she was the only one that could swim and she just started swimming and swimming and, uh, eventually hit land shark, infested waters. There's so much more to this story, but I won't give it away.
[00:45:47] Basically. She gets to this Island, which she was just lucky that she even found it swimming. Um, and then there was a path and she could have gone left or right. Um, and she chose left and she had to gone right. There was only one house on the entire Island and she had to go on. Right. She would have just been walking or running, whatever she was doing for forever, but she turned left and found the house.
[00:46:08] And they helped her and God, what's the book called? Um, Oh wait God, I can't remember. It's by Susan Bird Berg. Um, so
[00:46:19] GB: [00:46:19] check it out.
[00:46:20] Jess Lucas: [00:46:20] It's crazy.
[00:46:22] Mr. 97: [00:46:22] Jesus. The girl who lived.
[00:46:23] Jess Lucas: [00:46:23] Yeah, that's fine.
[00:46:25] Mr. 97: [00:46:25] There we go. Okay, great. Well, okay. The second one, you've gone on a remote road trip because stuck. No one's coming. You've got enough battery on your phone for a 15 second call.
[00:46:37] Who are you calling?
[00:46:39] GB: [00:46:39] Um,
[00:46:41] Mr. 97: [00:46:41] wow. Uh,
[00:46:43] GB: [00:46:43] probably it'd have to be family member mum, and it'd be like
[00:46:50] Mr. 97: [00:46:50] ma I'm stuck.
[00:46:51] GB: [00:46:51] Uh, call the place, send him somewhere, send them to me or find my friends, screenshot, find my friends right now. Call the police. Put send them to that location. I'm with
[00:47:03] Jess Lucas: [00:47:03] JV on that. That's
[00:47:04] Grace Peris: [00:47:04] pretty good idea.
[00:47:05] What's fun. My friends.
[00:47:07] Mr. 97: [00:47:07] Yeah.
[00:47:11] No, I agree. Yeah, no, I would, I would have to go. I reckon I would. I reckon I would do that to Josh because, Oh, you're right. One it's less complicated. Like just getting mum. Mum's got an Android, so.
[00:47:26] Grace Peris: [00:47:26] I probably call you Mason, do the five, my friends seeing, and then I'll say tweet
[00:47:35] GB: [00:47:35] hashtag.
[00:47:40] Mr. 97: [00:47:40] Alright. And the last one, and this actually happened. To an extent to three-day deal, not the last bit, but
[00:47:48] Jess Lucas: [00:47:48] you're
[00:47:48] Mr. 97: [00:47:48] on your way to a campsite. You've got to walk through a little bit of a forest. You get lost on the way to the campsite. It's five o'clock at night getting dark. Do you whiten the forest?
[00:48:01] There's no cell service night's coming. You've got a sleeping bag and a waterproof jacket. No idea where the campsite is. And there are three different paths. Are you going to wing it and pick a path or are you going to stay where you are? Cause you got a sleeping bag and waterproof jacket. It's going to get cold.
[00:48:23] Jess Lucas: [00:48:23] All of these sneakers. Yeah. It's all sending me.
[00:48:28] Mr. 97: [00:48:28] Just
[00:48:32] Jess Lucas: [00:48:32] imagine being in them. I mean,
[00:48:35] GB: [00:48:35] getting lost is really scary, but Eric and I just have a crack at one of the paths.
[00:48:39] Grace Peris: [00:48:39] Can you turn around and walk back?
[00:48:41] Mr. 97: [00:48:41] No loophole in the story? No.
[00:48:45] GB: [00:48:45] Why not?
[00:48:47] Mr. 97: [00:48:47] Because I'd walk back
[00:48:48] Grace Peris: [00:48:48] to the ride. Get cell service.
[00:48:53] Jess Lucas: [00:48:53] Wouldn't be going anywhere without cell service.
[00:48:57] Grace Peris: [00:48:57] moral of the story. Isn't
[00:48:58] Mr. 97: [00:48:58] it. That's a deal. Did he ended up walking back onto the main road on great ocean ride and then sunblock picked him up and dropped him off at his campsite.
[00:49:08] GB: [00:49:08] Which is still scary as well.
[00:49:10] Mr. 97: [00:49:10] Yeah. We've been doing that outrageous anyway, that's it.
[00:49:15] Jess Lucas: [00:49:15] All right.
[00:49:17] GB: [00:49:17] Well, let's, let's end everyone.
[00:49:20] Uh, thank you, Jess, for coming on the show. Now look, I love, I love just having us because you know, when we come back next year, maybe things will be slightly different and we can. Think about how we're going to do the show and just make it a bit more of a producing show, have guests every now and then.
[00:49:37] And you know, let's say this is a good little trial run for that. That's the second phase of it. So let's sound exciting.
[00:49:44] Mr. 97: [00:49:44] Just, just a quick thing on, um, next year title games.
[00:49:53] Should I retire? They haven't been good. Have that.
[00:49:56] GB: [00:49:56] The games haven't been great.
[00:49:58] Jess Lucas: [00:49:58] I mean, my favorite one was the chopping one, the onion one
[00:50:01] Mr. 97: [00:50:01] George loved that. So, George, do you want to do all the games? Cause they're not good
[00:50:07] GB: [00:50:07] is my problem that we had with trivia the other day. It's like, it sounds like such a good idea.
[00:50:11] And then
[00:50:12] Mr. 97: [00:50:12] when I, but you have to be
[00:50:14] Grace Peris: [00:50:14] really into it
[00:50:15] Jess Lucas: [00:50:15] and you have to be
[00:50:16] Grace Peris: [00:50:16] like confident to like, should I, um, like later, not just like, Oh, Yeah,
[00:50:24] GB: [00:50:24] I've got some questions really later.
[00:50:28] Mr. 97: [00:50:28] Do you want to lead it? Yeah.
[00:50:29] GB: [00:50:29] Can you be games
[00:50:31] Jess Lucas: [00:50:31] grant Denyer on the show and he can give us tips. Can we
[00:50:39] host extraordinary?
[00:50:41] Mr. 97: [00:50:41] Yeah. Okay. Well, I don't, yeah, I just don't, I don't think I bring the enthusiasm that the games deserve. And also you, it is a bit of a last minute, five days before the episode getting those and then just winging it in the moment.
[00:50:56] Jess Lucas: [00:50:56] I think you do a good job.
[00:50:57] GB: [00:50:57] I think you're doing great.
[00:50:58] Mr. 97: [00:50:58] Okay. Thank you.
[00:51:01] GB: [00:51:01] We'll work on it for next year. Maybe we'll have some, like. Yeah. Think of some games over summer and
[00:51:12] thanks guys. It's been, um, and we've still got a few more weeks I'm wrapping up now.
[00:51:16] Mr. 97: [00:51:16] I know it sounds like
[00:51:19] GB: [00:51:19] it's only November, but, um, look, thanks guys. Thanks for coming on, Jess. Her Instagram is going absolutely bonkers. Yeah. Jessica Lucas underscore underscore check it a fellow two underscores aren't
[00:51:31] Mr. 97: [00:51:31] there.
[00:51:32] GB: [00:51:32] Do you want to schools
[00:51:35] Mr. 97: [00:51:35] follow it? So
[00:51:37] GB: [00:51:37] Drew's following who else is following
[00:51:40] Mr. 97: [00:51:40] Tali.
[00:51:43] Jess Lucas: [00:51:43] There we go, Australia.
[00:51:46] GB: [00:51:46] Great. Um, so Chuck, her father fucker, Foley, Chuck up to every play for that as well. And, uh, we'll see you next week. Bye .
